Our guide will take you on a short tour of the neighbouring villages where you can see Gurung homes without having to walk far.
Total time – approximately 1.5 hours with 15 minutes of hill walking

Birdwatching Tour
Birdwatching can be done on your own from the cottage itself in the early morning or late afternoon. Over 100 species can be found in this area including eagles, parrots, kingfishers, and egrets. And while birdwatching look out in the jungle for deer, monkey and signs of leopards!

Jungle Trek and Village Tour (medium to strenuous)
Start from the Farmhouse after breakfast and walk up to Rammadi and Motikhan villages for approximately two hours where you can enjoy a cup of tea and learn something about the local culture from your guide. It takes approximately 1.5 hours to walk down again either through the jungle, or, in the wet season, back the same, drier route.
Total time – 4 hours
Cost - US$15 per your group with an additional charge if children require to be carried
Gurung Culture Trek (strenuous)

Start from the Farmhouse after an early breakfast. Pass through the villages of Carri Khola, Kalchi, to Ulleri and Khade Khola, stopping for tea on the way. On reaching Ulleri enjoy your packed lunch before beginning your walk back to the Farmhouse.
Total time – 8 hours, approximately 6 walking
Cost - US$20 per your group, plus US$12 per person for packed lunch and porter charges. Additional charge if children require to be carried.
Peace Pagoda and Lakeside Trek (medium)

The Peace Pagoda is a Buddhist stupa built to stimulate world peace and over looking Fewa Lake and can be seen from the Farmhouse. Leave the Farmhouse after an early breakfast and trek to the Peace Pagoda (2 hours), take a break and enjoy the scenic views of Pokhara, the lake, the majestic mountain ranges and surrounds. Walk down for approximately half an hour to the lake and boat across, stopping at Barahi Hindu temple in the middle of the lake. Arrive in Lakeside in time for lunch. Enjoy shopping in Lakeside and return to Furse Khola Cottage late afternoon.
Total time – 4 hours to Lakeside, and approximately four hours for lunch and shopping.
Cost - US$20 per your group, up to four. An additional charge for transport if there are more than four. An additional charge if children need to be carried. Lunch at your own expense.
Sunrise Pagoda Tour by Car
Leave the Farmhouse before dawn and drive within an easy 10 minutes walk of the Peace Pagoda. See the sun rise over scenic snow mountains and Fewa Lake, enjoy a cup of tea and drive back to the Farmhouse for breakfast.
Total time – 2 hours
Cost - US$60 per your group
Sunrise Walk (medium)
Drive to the Peace Pagoda to witness dawn then either walk back to the farm (1.5 hours) or take a boat to Lakeside (half an hour walk down hill and a short boat ride) for breakfast.
Total time – drive and walk back to the farm – approximately 2.5 hours. Drive and walk/boat to Lakeside – approximately 3 hours plus your own free time in Lakeside.
Cost - US$55 per your group. An additional charge if children require to be carried. Breakfast in Lakeside at your own expense. Return from Lakeside at your own expense.
Sarangkot Tour
Leave the Farmhouse pre-dawn (approximately 5.30am). Drive to Sarankot Hill (1,592m) at the other side of Lakeside where you will take a short walk up to the famous viewpoint spot to witness sunrise over the Annapurnas. Enjoy a cup of tea and breakfast and drive back to the Farmhouse for breakfast or be dropped in Lakeside to enjoy the day at your own leisure.
Time – approximately three and a half hours
Cost - $100 per your group. Breakfast and return from Lakeside at your own expense.

Karma Dhabgy Chokhorling Manang Monastery (Matapani Gumba)

This Buddhist monastery, situated east of Pokhara on a hill, offers training and education services for young boys from Upper Mustang and Manang in order for them to become monks. Supported solely by the donations of devotees, the monastery is currently home to 70 monks.
It is possible to visit this Monastery and receive a unique personal blessing. Should you be interested, please let us know one day before hand so that we can contact the monastery and organise this for you.
Total time – the best time for a blessing is in the morning. Please allow the whole morning to give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the monastery and the blessing. It is also possible to visit the monastery and not participate in a blessing.
Cost - US$20 per your group (up to four people) for transport and guide. A donation to the Monastery will be gratefully received – we recommend you give a minimum of Rs1,500 per person for a personal blessing ceremony.
Mahendrapul Bazaar, Gupteshwor Caves and Devi’s Falls
Mahendrapul is the main shopping area of Pokhara where you can find local markets, supermarkets selling international goods and local shops selling dhalbhat plates, Nepali clothes and materials, copper goods such as Nepali water jugs etc. Departing from the Farmhouse after breakfast, enjoy lunch in a local restaurant as well as shopping.
This tour can be combined with a trip to the Gupteshwor Caves and Devi’s Falls which both lie close to the Farmhouse.
The Gupteshwor Caves are caves sacred to Hindus as they were found containing a Shiva lingum – a phallic symbol associated with Lord Shiva, the Hindu God.
Devi’s Falls is a spectacular waterfall into which Devi fell and disappeared, probably into an underground cavern.
Total time – allow four to six hours for this tour.
Cost - US$20 per your group for transport. Lunch and entrance fees at your own expense.
Nepal Mountain Museum
The first of its kind in Nepal, this newly opened museum provides an insight into mountaineering and the lives of mountain peoples. Enjoy exploring the large grounds and take lunch or snacks at the museum restaurant designed in local village style.
This can be combined with a visit to nearby Shangrila Hotel for swimming in their pool. (Please enquire about current swimming rates.)
Total time – allow approximately 2 – 3 hours to visit the museum.
Cost - US$20 per your group for transport only. Entrance fee at your own expense. Should you wish to visit Shangrila Hotel there will be an additional waiting charge for transportation after the first hour. (Please enquire at the Farmhouse)
